Do I need an appointment?

No, we serve walk-ins only on a first come, first serve basis.

I live outside of Owyhee County. Can I come to your office?

Yes, you can go to any DMV office in Idaho.

What times are you open?

• In Murphy & Marsing we are open 8:30 am – 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
• In Grand View we are open 9:00 am – 3:00 pm on Wednesdays only.

What are your testing hours?

Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) testing must start by 2:00 pm (all locations), and Driver’s License Class D testing by 3:00 pm in Marsing & Murphy, or 2:30 pm in Grand View. (*If you are waiting and are not helped by these times, you may be asked to return the next day).

Do you close for lunch?

Marsing & Grand View do not close for lunch. Murphy closes for lunch from 12:00-12:30 pm (times may vary depending on customers).

Can we get both drivers licenses and title/registrations there?

Yes, we are a full-service DMV and Driver’s License office at all 3 locations.

Who do I contact for a driving skills test for a driver’s license?

You can find a skills test examiner on the Idaho Transportation Department website.

How long does it take for a driver’s license written test? CDL written test?

Average test time is approximately 10 to 15 minutes per test. Find more information and take practice tests on the Idaho Transportation Department Website.

I need a new Driver’s License/ID card. Do I have to go into an office?

You may be eligible to renew online on the Idaho Transportation Department website, but if not, you will need to go into a DMV office. If you renew in a DMV office, a new picture is required.

What documents do I need to bring for a Driver’s License, ID Card, or Star Card?

My vehicle registration is suspended for lack of insurance (Drive Insured Program). What do I do?

Go onto the Idaho Transportation Department website or Call ITD at 208-584-4343. (*County DMV offices are not involved with Drive Insured, and vehicle owners cannot report their insurance in-person at a DMV office.)

Can I pay the re-instatement fee for my Driver’s License suspension at a DMV office?

No, you must call ITD at 208-584-4343 or go online on the Idaho Transportation Department website.

What is the cost to title a vehicle?

In Owyhee County the title fee is $24 (other counties charge different amounts)

What is the cost for an ID Card/Driver’s License/CDL?

ID Card: 4 yr renewal - $15, 8 yr renewal - $25 (21 & over), Duplicate $15

Driver’s License: 4 yr renewal - $35, 8 yr renewal - $60 (21 through 62, over 62 is 4 yr only), Duplicate $20

CDL: 4 yr renewal - $40, 8 yr renewal - $60 (21 through 62, Hazmat endorsement is 4 yr only), Duplicate $20

I recently moved. Do I need to change my address?

Yes, Idaho law requires you to update your address within 30 days of moving. You can do that online on the Idaho Transportation Department website or at a DMV office.
