Anything over 200 square feet requires a building permit.
Where can I get the application and submission requirements?
Online at: Building Department - Owyhee County Idaho
Can I submit my application online?
If your application requires big plans, it is recommended to bring the application along with the plans and other required documentation into the Homedale Office located at 130 W. Idaho Ave., Homedale, ID 83628
If your application does not have big plans, you can email application and submission requirements to Aiesha Zenor at azenor@co.owyhee.id.us
How long does it take to get a building permit?
If all required documents are submitted at the time of applying, it roughly takes 4 weeks to get the approved permit returned. A delay in submitting any required documentation (site plan, plans, septic, fire permits, etc.) will result in a delay in the issuance of the building permit.
What Impact Fees does the County have?
Homedale Fire District:
- Residential- $1,349.00
Marsing Fire District
- Residential - $1,500.00
Marsing EMS:
- Residential $594.00
for a grand total of $2,094.00 for new residence.
When do I get an address?
You must apply for an address with the Assessor’s Office after you pay for your approved building permit.

How do I schedule an inspection?
Call or Text Jim King at 208-941-0134 at least 24 hours prior to needing the inspection
How long is my building permit good for?
Permit will expire 180 days from the date of their issuance or the date of last inspection.
